NAME;
Adderstep
AGE;
42 moons
CLAN;
RiverClan
POSITION;
Deputy
APPEARANCE;
Adderstep is, while not exotic, a very strange looking cat. He can best be described as an orange, stripey kitty; his fur is mainly a ticked orange, with dark brown stripes running down his back and legs. He has a very rounded face, with wide cheeks and short, wide ears. His eyes are set fairly low on his head; depending on the light, they can be a dark, yellowy green or amber. His paws are also round, sort of like paddles. He has been caught on past occasions bragging about his swimming speed.
Adderstep holds himself very peculiarly, with his head lower than his shoulder and his tail an extension of his spine. He walks purposefully, a little slower than the rest. It has been said that he always looks like he is stalking something.
PERSONALITY;
Adderstep is everything you could want in a deputy. He has leadership skills, a quick tongue, and supreme fighting abilities. He is very loyal to his clan, and to Thistlestar. It could be said that his one fault (that others can attest to) would be his dislike towards kits. He was born with a short temper and a bit of impatience in his blood, and kits only upset him. "They should learn to accept things the way they are, instead of asking questions and bumbling about." he complains.
Adderstep has gotten very good at staying put. After a patrol, or whenever he has spare time, he simply sits and waits for something to do. It is then that he thinks, and it is then that his past tends to eat away at his confidence. It is because of this that his mood can be unpredictable- he'll be having a great time, then a memory creeps into his mind and he can turn into an angry boss fit for ShadowClan.
HISTORY;
Adderstep had a fairly normal history- he was born to a beautiful queen and a dashing tom. He didn't have any siblings, though; his mother was a little old to be bearing kits, and his father has told him that may have affected her litter. His mother has since passed away, but don't get your panties in a not; she died of old age. His father is still alive, but barely. He lives with the rest of the elders, and is quite jolly.
Adderstep was apprenticed by a senior warrior named Whitetail, who taught him better than the leader could have! He was quickly standing out next to other apprentices; he could hunt like a warrior, and in his play fights, he always won. His parents couldn't have been prouder.
He was made warrior at 13 moons, where he continued to hone his skills. It was becoming evident that Adderstep was an asset to the clan, and he knew it too. He was swooned over and respected, and the leader had already been considering giving him some sort of promotion.
Adderstep lived the next several moons normally. He was loyal to his clan, and respected. At 34 moons, the previous leader of RiverClan passed away. Thistlestar was knighted leader, and he was proud to be considered deputy. Clan life was good; Thistlestar quickly showed everyone how capable she was of taking on the clan responsibilities, and his life only seemed to be getting better.
That is until he met Rabbitpool [name subject to change]. She was the most beautiful she-cat he had ever met. There was only one problem; he met her doing border patrol. She was a WindClan cat. He now had to choose between his clan and Rabbitpool. He had heard of this happening before, and he knew the consequences were harsh. He tried to convince himself that there were other she-cats who were better tahn her, and even in his own clan, but he knew that wasn't true. They met as often as they could, until she broke it off. She had someone else back at her clan to love, and she was pregnant with his litter.
Of course, Adderstep was upset. He lost control and attacked her, vowing that he would never lose sight of his clan again. She wasn't hurt, thank goodness. Although Adderstep tries to convince himself othewise, he will never forget her or stop loving her.
