[/i] StarClan, it seemed to have been so long since she'd tasted the rodent! Saliva flooded her mouth, but she softly gulped it back down and crouched down. Fleetingly, the thought that mice didn't usually come into ShadowClan territory crossed her mind. But she pushed the thought away almost immediately; fresh-kill was still fresh-kill. With that, she brought herself over the snow smoothly. She supposed she should thank her long-dead sister for showing her how ThunderClan stalked before she died. There! The brown body stuck out against the snow so much, Dawnfire was surprised she hadn't been able to see it earlier. Keeping her paws light, she measured her distance, leaped, and killed it with one bite. The mouse was scrawny; she could feel it's ribs stabbing against her tongue. But, as she'd already said, fresh-kill was fresh-kill.[/blockquote] [/ul][/size]

Swiftheart watched appreciatively as her deputy killed the mouse, no matter how scrawny it was; she and Dawnfire were in the same state of mind: fresh-kill, was fresh-kill. After Dawnfire had buried her kill, Swiftheart made her presence known. "I know how the sun glints in your eyes, Dawnfire; but that's no excuse for your lack of observation," she said, her voice completely serious. She added to the weight of her comment by nodding her head to the squirrel on the low-branch a few dozen pawsteps behind her, or the two robins that just flitted from the bush to her far right. Curling her lip up in a sneer, Swiftheart stared at Dawnfire, daring her to lash back. Suddenly, Swiftheart gasped, as if she were in terrible pain, and she buckled under her paws, crashing into the snow, groaning, and her eyes glazed over.

(I hope this is alright with you Shiny, I am suggesting that Foxfrost and Dawnfire were hunting together originally)
Foxfrost had been hunting near with Dawnfire and heard Swiftheart's comment to Dawnfire. Lifting his nose to smell he caught the feeling that something was wrong. Running towards where the two she-cat were he saw Swiftheart on the ground. "Swiftheart! What happened?" he yelled as he ran to her.

ooc:// i hope you all don't mind me joining in... the more the better i guess? ic:// A shrill cry echoed all around Deathslash and he bolted up right in the snow, ears pricked for the location of the sound. He recognized the sound as his fellow clan mate Foxfrost. As fast as lightning, Deathslash darted through the snow covered under growth, sniffing the still air as he went to locate Foxfrost. "Foxfrost! What in the name of Starclan!" Deathslash cursed when he came onto the scene. Swiftheart lay, crumpled on the snowy ground, with Foxfrost over her and Dawnfire a few tail lengths away. "What happened?!" Deathslash demanded, crouching low beside Foxfrost and hissing out in frustration. No one was speaking.

Dawnfire gasped as Swiftheart suddenly buckled. Her Clanmate fell to the ground, groaning. She stood frozen in shock for a moment before the sound of crunching snow under paws broke her trance. "Swiftheart! What happened?" Foxfrost! Where in StarClan's name did he come from? Never mind that, Swiftheart needed help. "I'm not sure what happened." She snapped crisply. "We need a runner to go back to camp and get Spider-"
Another yowl interrupted her. Deathslash suddenly appeared in the clearing, clearly angry. "I don't know what happened!" She snapped for the second time in a few minutes. "One heartbeat she was standing there, critisizing my hunting. The next, she's crumbled on the ground like a helpless kit!" She padded over, no longer worrying about fresh-kill. "She wasn't coughing or wheezing, so she doesn't have green-cough. One of you needs to fetch Spiderfang while we try to keep her warm."
