Thistlestar weakly, but confident, left Mintleaf's den and walked out into the main expanse of the camp.
As all of her cats eyes turned to her, many focusing on her cobweb caked head-wound, she stepped up on the large river-boulder next to her den. She addressed the Clan then, just as she saw Adderstep and a few of her other warriors, moving to the camp's exit.
"Cats of RiverClan," she called out, looking over the assembled cats without a gleam of wavering resolve. "Heronclaw's betrayal will not go unpunished, especially since I fear this will not be the end. I am not a leader who will hide the knowledge that could ensure your safety, or at least make you cautious when out of camp... or even in it. We must be prepared for her and any other cat she may bring along at all times. I must increase the patrols up to an extra one each day for our safety. And, since this may not just threaten us, I will alert Velvetstar, Pantherstar and Halfstar of what has transpired before the Gathering if possible.
"And I want to assure you, all of you, I am not capable of letting her win. StarClan is behind us, all of us; and I will put every one of my lives on the line if circumstances require." she trailed off, leaving that in the air. Then, turning to her Deupty, she said,
"Adderstep, you may go now. See if you can catch up with her, if not, report back with what direction she headed in. Take whom you feel necessary with you."
